If you plan to ship anything using gel packs, or dry ice we suggest that you check with that shipper to see if there are specific regulations that you must follow. We also recommend if time permits that you try a cold shipping test first to be sure your product will transport correctly.
Pack an insulated container as you would on ship day and
put the frozen gel packs inside the insulated container and seal the container up as you would on ship day.
Leave the box to sit for 24 hours then open the box and check temperatures.
Below we have included some informative links about shipping with Gel Packs and Dry Ice.
Also remember that the
Box Void is the main reason for
damage during shipment so be sure to secure your product
so it does not bounce and shift around during transport.
If you choose to utilize dry ice rather than frozen gel packs, please remember safe handling procedures. Check with your shipper for specific regulations.
Dry Ice requires special labeling and handling.

Ice-Brix™ Cold Packs
Perfect for Catering Services and Food Service
use. Made to last for years and take a beating
When using cold
packs with food please keep in mind the USDA
(United States Food and Drug Administration) recommends that
food should not be left out at room temperature
more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is
above 90 °F). Many drinks and food items just
taste better when cool, but your real concern
should be bacteria. Perishable food should be
kept at temperatures less than 40 degrees. As
the temperature rises above 40 degrees bacteria
will begin to grow. The higher the temperature,
the faster bacteria will grow. This is when
frozen gel packs can help.
Our Freezer Gel Packs are
the most effective way to keep food cold and
safe to eat. They are filled with food grade non
toxic gel that freezes solid after 4-6 hours in
the freezer. Freezer gel packs freeze at a lower
temperature than water so they keep things
colder and last longer than regular ice. They
can keep your food cold 4-6 hours depending on
the outside temperature. It is recommended not
to place any perishable food in direct
sunlight. Best of all our gel packs can be
cleaned with soap and water between use. Use
anti bacteria soap or a diluted bleach mixture
to kill bacteria. We try to keep prices low so
you can buy a case of Gel Packs and use year round.
