When using cold
packs with food please keep in mind the USDA
(United States Food and Drug Administration) recommends that
food should not be left out at room temperature
more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is
above 90 °F). Many drinks and food items just
taste better when cool, but your real concern
should be bacteria. Perishable food should be
kept at temperatures less than 40 degrees. As
the temperature rises above 40 degrees bacteria
will begin to grow. The higher the temperature,
the faster bacteria will grow. This is when
frozen gel packs can help.
Our Freezer Gel Packs are
the most effective way to keep food cold and
safe to eat. They are filled with food grade non
toxic gel that freezes solid after 4-6 hours in
the freezer. Freezer gel packs freeze at a lower
temperature than water so they keep things
colder and last longer than regular ice. They
can keep your food cold 4-6 hours depending on
the outside temperature. It is recommended not
to place any perishable food in direct
sunlight. Best of all our gel packs can be
cleaned with soap and water between use. Use
anti bacteria soap or a diluted bleach mixture
to kill bacteria.
